Toño Vega

After many years working as a cartoonist and illustrator, I began to paint quite late, but with a very strong vocation and enthusiasm. I started my career with watercolor, and since the beginning I developped a particular interest for still life. For reasons that sometimes I´m not able to express, the simple objects that serve us or just live with us in our everyday life are my most inspiring models.

Lately, already working with oils, acrilics and mixed media, I´m finding the same poetry and quiet beauty in buildings and urban landscape. Definitely, silence is what moves me the most in art.

Degree in Spanish Language and Literature by the University of Barcelona.
Art studies in Escola Sant Lluc and The Royal Artistic Circle (Barcelona).

Many collective and some one man exhibitions. Last of them, a collective of drawings and printed works , sharing the gallery with the best local painters and also stablished artists as Tápies or Dalí. After that, two one man exhibitions "The solitude of things" and "The color of silence", in 2013 and 2014. I am now preparing the next one, with different techniques and subjects, and also with more intense colors, but focused, as always, in silence.
