Alona Vakhmistrova

Alena Vakhmistrova's paintings show the beauty and mystery of black in botanical and animalistic subjects. In many cultures, black is the color of sadness and mourning, but the artist has the opposite perception. For her, it is the color of calmness, peace and universal infinity. And gold in the paintings is a symbol of the divine light and warmth of our universe. After all, any light always begins with pitch darkness.

Alena was born and raised in the city Dnipro, Ukraine. She graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Theater and Art College, and then Kherson University with a degree in Fine Arts. At the same time, while studying at the university, Alyona taught drawing to children from 5-6 years old. After graduating from university, she went to work as an art teacher at a school and continued to paint in search of her own genre.
