ABOUT
EDUCATION
RECOGNITION

Verena Mayer Tasch uses symbolic fragments which origin in a very personal and intimate experience, evoking emotions and
feelins which she transforms into sculptural images using a universal and essential formal language. Her artistic research addresses the theme of the various cycles of life and examines the quest ion of circularity implicit in nature and human history. With the help of minimalist objects such as toys (spinning tops, pinwheels, small boats, butterflies, origami folds), she deals with the th eme of happiness as a state of wholeness belonging to the age of childhood, inviting to reclaim this collective memory for a better living of the present.

After graduating from classical high school (1987) she completes an apprenticeship and graduates in carpentry in 1991. Subsequen tly she moves to Italy and studies in the Accademia of fineArts in Carrara, where she graduates in Sculpture in 1996. In 2015 she foundes her own Sculpture Studio, Studio Marmore + in the centre of Carrara, where she lives and works permanently. From 1992 she participates at numerous International Stone Sculpture Symposiums in all over the world. Her works can be found in numerous public and private collections incountries such as Argentina, Austria, China, Germany, France, Italy, Israel, Luxembourg, Turkey, Syria and Uzbekistan.
