Vinko Kalcic

With his Fine Art background Vinko was inspired greatly by ‘pictorial' school of photography which sought to emulate the beauty of paintings in photographs. His images tend to have an ethereal quality, moving into the realm of image creation from image capture. His photographs capture sublime moments of light and shapes, seeking patterns and hidden links between reality and the imagination.Their deceiving simplicity is part of their strength. The stillness, peacefulness and pure beauty in each photograph is designed to provoke a more personally introspective consideration. Vinko wants to settle the mind and alert the senses. His photographs are intuitive and heartfelt. He knows how to embrace beauty for all its worth accepting the simple purity allowing us to marvel at its power. Atmospheric effects, lyrical charm and emotional revelations occur in his photos through the combination of light, space and time.
For many years he has developed a keen eye for what makes photography special. His photos are like love poems that convey almost spiritual quality of serenity and calm, space and solitude.
