I was born and raised in Paris, the child of Spanish immigrants ,in a home where Art was cherished .My father ,eccentric and passionate about beauty , passed down his love for Art - though it wasn't until his death that I began painting .what started as a way to ease my grief became the truest expression of my freedom . when I paint , there is no time , no weight of reality-only liberation .
I never attended Art school ;painting is my instinct . my language .Colors move me .For me color is life itself .
Sometimes I use flowers , but only as an excuse to explore endless combinations of color and form .I am a city girl ,a Parisienne who has spent most of her life in New York City , and that duality lives in my work ; layered , restless , alive .
I love building layers upon layers ,shaping curves and movement that invite the viewer to look deeper . My canvases are not jut painted, they are lived in, each one carrying fragments of memory , emotion ,and release.
For me , painting is freedom ,and freedom is everything .
