Virginia Di Saverio

I am a self-taught artist. I am a painter and have written two books of poetry published by two Italian publishers.
I am Italian, I live and work in San Benedetto del Tronto, a country on the coast of the Adriatic Sea.
For many years I painted interiors of apartments and still lifes, expressing myself mainly with colours. I love the colours and joy they convey for those who use them in painting and for those who choose to have a brightly coloured and harmonious painting in their own home. I was mainly inspired by Matisse and the other historical painters who lived between the 800 and 900 who belonged to the current of Fauvism.
For a few years now, however, I have been more focussed on the human figure, especially on the face, I paint big expressive portrait. They are portrait almost out of time, like eternal, reminiscent of something of the spiritual world that come to life on the canvas and that's what I'd like to convey with these last paintings of mine.

2020-2022: I exhibited my paintings in solo exhibitions in my country;
2018: the Italian publisher 'Capponi' published my second book of poems and paintings entitled 'L'Attesa'. I have participated in several book presentations in Italy also exhibiting my paintings;
2017:solo exhibition at “Palazzina Azzurra" in San Benedetto del Tronto, where I exhibited 40 my paintings;
2017: presentations of my book of poetry “Le stanze svelate” with my paintings as scenery in Ascoli Piceno and province;
2016: presentation of my book of poetry “Le stanze svelate” with my paintings as scenery in Grottammare;
2016: publication of my book of poetry "Le stanze svelate" by the publisher Giulio Perrone, the book collects about 160 my poems, inside it is illustrated by my drawings and on the cover there is my painting "The Room";
2016: participation at the “Spring Prize” in Rome organized by CIAC of Rome (International Contemporary Artists Committee), where I received the "Diploma of Author for Painting;
2016: participation at the “Biennial of Visual Arts” in Rome;
2016: making scenography with my paintings during the presentation of national and international writers for “Writers under the stars 2016” in San Benedetto del Tronto;
