Vivek Mehra

vivek’s works display a diversity of subject areas and styles reflective of his multi-cultural background and his travels through india, europe and the united states. while influenced by western artists such as wolf kahn, mark rothko and richard diebenkorn, he simultaneously draws upon on his familiarity with the indian milieu - as is seen in the works of contemporary indian artists such as manu parekh, jatin das and paramjit singh. as an american artist living in india, he represents a global zeitgeist and suggests an eastern expression alongside occidental modernism. his work therefore often finds a natural leaning for a juxtaposition of bright hues with occasional indian symbolism.vivek's works are currently in private collections in the us, uk, ireland, norway, and india.
