Veronica Timasheva

I am an artist, designer and illustrator who lives in Kandy, Sri Lanka, the world centre of Buddhism. My artworks are inspired by Sri Lankan nature and culture, as well as myths and fantasy stories. I am also a certified Master Yoga Teacher.

In 2016, the year I moved to Sri Lanka, I graduated from an art and design school that continues and develops the traditions of two famous Russian/Soviet artists: Kazimir Malevich (1879–1935) and his student, Vladimir Sterligov (1904–1973). Inspired by my art teacher, Vladimir Smirnov (1940–2014), one of Sterligov's students, I developed my own unique polymer clay painting technique and individual style of acrylic painting, continuing this great tradition.
