Massimo Costantino

Massimo Costantino was born in Rome in 1955. In 1966 his family moved to Turin. The life in the former Italian Capital City is completely different from the one in Rome.
The charm of Turin, where aristocracy and working class coexist, and the ideas and activities bubbling underground the apparent static of the city influence him deeply
In the '70s he takes part actively in the artistic avant-garde and underground culture experimenting with a new music wave inspired by Berio, Nono and Stockhausen. He collaborates with the Anonymous Theatre Studio composing soundtracks, some of them shared with his mentor and guru Franco Battiato.
At the same time he founds the Long Vehicle rock band and performs in the the best city clubs in Turin, Milan and abroad.
At the end of the '80s he founds an underground club Il Tapiro Rullante Club which quickly becomes a meeting point and laboratory for musicians, artists, theater players and comedians, a forerunner of the more famous Zelig Theatre in Milan. 3,000 members join quickly the The Tapiro Rullante Club .
