Born in Sheffield 1957, currently living in Rotherham. I began to seriously study art at the age of 34. I am now a full time artist. am currently working in the medium of mosiac.My work relies on the manipulation of surfaces, textures, patterns and edges.I like to work spontaneously and intuitively.Contrast, be it of colour, line, tone, texture, pattern, etc, plays a large part in my work. My work is mainly concieved visually rather than conceptually.Influences include 'Chaos Theory' - I like to work at the interface between order and disorder, believing that new forms of beauty can be created here.influenced by cartography, astronomy, nature and the artists Frank Stella, Jasper Johns and Mosaics.
