Mo Wang

Slade final year student.Currently my works deal with a variety of issues relating to gender, identity and culture. I often relate my own experience of being a female in the Asian society with the female characters in my paintings, thus forming an intricate yet emotional dialogue between us. Also, my unique experience of having been born in China, brought up in Singapore and studying in UK have led to a natural identity crisis that resulted in my continued interest in this area. My paintings often encompass both western and eastern elements as I try to incorporate Chinese painting technics into the works. However, much is needed to resolve the conflicts between the many elements in my paintings.
