ABOUT
EDUCATION

I work in oils on panel, drawing on paper and digital photograph.

Originally from Texas, I live in rural New South Wales near Inverell on a remote property where I keep a studio in an old woolshed. My eclectic painting style weaves together dreams and experience, while drawing upon the colours and moods of the Australian landscape.

Exhibiting since 1984 and my works are held in public and private collections in Australia and overseas.

I studied art at the University of Houston's notorious Lawndale Annex under the direction of James Surls, Moira Kelly and Chuck Dugan in the early 1980's. My painting instructors were Derek Boshier, Gael Stack and Richard Stout. I also studied photography with George Krause.

In 1985 I started the Commerce Street Artist Warehouse, an artist colony and alternative art and performance space in downtown Houston, Texas. I helped direct the performance space until 1993.
