Wolfgang Loewe

Wolfgang Loewe`s works include numerous drawings, images and objects. Filigree and with love for detail in his early artistic phase, both in architectural and figurative drawings, later on free and full of aesthetic movement.
It doesn´t take long to recognize that Loewe´s motivation for art lies in contrasts witch only he has the eye for. Confined clowns, mutated flying objects of genetic engineering. Line figures with lyrical verses, war pictures as decorative background design, or fine twigs supporting crushing concrete.
Loewe finds his motifs, or rather his motivation, in polarity, in the excitement of light and shadow, of straight and amorphous, of design and free thinking. In Synaptische Blätter, the randomness of his stroke is perfectly revealed, the basis of which is formed by gold, the epitome of stability and material value.
Loewes portrayals strike you with a very divers artistic appeal at first sight. They provide the impression that many artist worked on them. But once viewers go beyond the surface and deeper into the theme, they get to discover the play and appeal of opposites as a clear artistic message.
The versatility of his techniques clearly symbolises the diversity of his craft and reaffirms his theme.
