Francesc Xavier Renau

Barcelona, 1956. Spanish painter with a long trajectory, he graduated in Art History in Barcelona and then started to investigate by himself the art of painting, experimenting with different technics like oil, acrylics, aquarelle and wax.

From the beginning, the impressionist inspired his work. He has big connection to France due in part to his french wife. Even though, his roots and character remain mediterranean, according great importance to light and color in all his works.

You can also feel a strong asian influence in his paintings, specially from the Chinese taoist from who he adapts concepts to his art and lifestyle. With time and experience, his paintings and sculptures turn more and more to simplicity and abstraction, but always preserving an inevitable connection to landscapes and inspiration on nature.
