Yulia Yakunina was born in 1984 in Russia.
Lives and works in Siberia.

"When I am happy - I paint. When I paint - I am happy.

I love imperfections - so everything starts to look livelier, it becomes real.
I see exactly these differences in people, in a heap of apples or nuts. I see the uniqueness of everyone. In my works, each fruit has its own story. They even look somewhat detached, despite the accuracy. Probably, I would like people not to strive to be like everyone else, not to experience inferiority complexes, but to understand that they are unique, and everyone grows at their own pace. And first of all, I want to cultivate these feelings in myself, painting helps me a lot in this.

I finally understood this when I had children. My consciousness has changed, it became easier for me to accept myself and there was an urgent need for creative self-expression. My painting is controversial in many ways. Expressive on the one hand, quiet and comfortable on the other.
