Yona Verwer is a Dutch-born, New York-based multidisciplinary visual artist whose work explores themes of identity, migration, ecology, heritage, and transformation. Her practice spans painting, installation, video, and new media, often combining traditional techniques with contemporary narratives.
Her most recent series, LIVING WATERS, includes two ongoing projects:
· LIVING WATERS – Turning The Tide, which examines the relationship between human behavior and the natural world, using embedded video, painting, and cultural references to explore environmental impact.
· LIVING WATERS – IMMERSIONS: Where tradition meets transformation, a body of work reimagining symbolic and cultural rituals through contemporary visual language.
Verwer holds an MFA from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Her work has been featured in over 30 museum exhibitions and numerous galleries across the United States and internationally, including the Jerusalem Biennale, the Andy Warhol Factory, the Heller Museum, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, the Bronx Museum, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Featured in solo shows in the Netherlands and New York, my work has also appeared in venues such as the Andy Warhol Factory, the Bronx Museum, NY, the Reginald Lewis Museum of African-American History, the Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art, Jerusalem Biennale, and the Mizel Museum in Denver.
My mural work includes a large-scale installation at the SAR High School, Riverdale, NY, and at the Center for Jewish Discovery in NYC.
