Sergey Zakharenko

I was born in Kotlas, Russia in 1956. Presently I live and work in Saint Petersburg, Russia. I am a member of Russian Artists' Union and regularly participate in numerous regional and international exhibitions. My works were widely exhibited in Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Ufa, Nizhniy Novgorod, Krasnodar.
I work mostly using original self-invented oil pastel technique in a way resembling encaustic. I am practicing various genres: still-life, figurative art, portrait, abstract art and tend to decorative and geometric abstraction. I also do a lot of printmaking, linocuts as well as oil and acrylic painting.

Among the artists that inspire me are Max Beckmann, Richard Lindner, Richard Diebenkorn, Alexandr Zadorin.
