Sarah Hole

My work draws up on lines and shapes from biological forms intertwined with spacial design. Using a traditional process of ceramics, the wheel, I create collections of small thrown pots. Allowing form to precede functionality I explore and experiment with delicateness of line and edge. I work with Porcelain as it’s pure, fragile and vulnerable, but at the same time holds strong characteristics and a sense of identity. My collections work as part of a space whether this is through a context of interiors, architecture or in the landscape. Collections consider the qualities in the thrown objects and either compliment or juxtapose them creating a spatial design and a new layer of viewer interaction.
