Ponytail Painting

I raised two young men. I taught myself to paint. I always sketched and drew before I journied into color. My boys are my inspiration. I paint them often. I am drawn to portraiture, I love to see my paintings come alive. My subjects feel like friends by the time I'm through, I know their faces intimately. I relate to them, to the human experience. There is nothing so expressive and mysterious at the same time. I see, or feel, the human experience in all forms of art. I hear it in music. Perhaps its all self discovery. Every painting is a portrait of the artist right? A portrait of humanity.
