Martin Sloan

Martin Sloan is a British painter based in Malaysia whose gestural abstractions translate tropical light, heat, and memory into layered fields of colour. His Heat Bloom series explores the tension between place and sensation — where paint becomes weather and gesture becomes landscape. Rooted in both British abstraction and Southeast Asian atmosphere, Sloan’s work captures the poetry of living inside climate.

I studied at Newcastle college where I studied five A levels in Art, after which I undertook a BA Hons degree in Fine Art at Sunderland University between 1996 and 1999.
