Constanza L Schlichting

She has exposed in Italy, Spain, Germany, Panamá and USA. She counts in her career with more than thirty exhibitions individual and collective. Lately we can highlight her selection at the 51th Prize Reina Sofia 2016, and her participation in the 24th international art fair Estampa with the gallery Montsequi. In her last individual exhibitions she makes nature protagonist and look for a greater synthesis. Maybe a need for silence.

Tras pintar varios años las ciudades de Madrid y Milán, continúa su obra pictórica y expone en Italia, España y EEUU. Desde sus comienzos la figura humana ha sido muy importante en su pintura, como se puede ver en sus maternidades, en las figuras que pueblan lo cuadros urbanos o protagonizan los cuadros y en sus retratos.

She has a BA in Art History from the Complutense University of Madrid and courses in drawing, modelling and ceramics. In 1998 she moved to Berlin where, in the University of Fine Arts (HdK), she studied with the painter Klaus Fussmann, and learnt drawing, painting and engraving. From her friendship with the Berlin painter Achim Niemann she developed a taste for simple, minimal language. She has exhibited in the cities of Leipzig, Lüneburg (where the gallerist Jürgen Meyer gave her his vote of confidence and support), Gadendorf (Schleswig-Holstein) and Berlin. After 2001, she continued to paint in Spain, exhibiting in several cities. She has added to her experience by completing courses with masters such as Alfredo Piquer, Joan Hernández Pijoan and Antonio López.

Licenciada en Historia del Arte por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, realiza cursos de dibujo, modelado y cerámica, y decide dedicarse a la pintura. Se traslada al norte de Alemania, tierra materna, para comenzar a pintar en la naturaleza con los pintores Henning Rethmeier y Alice Gauer. En 1998 se va a Berlín, y allí, en la Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes (HdK), estudia con el pintor Klaus Fussmann, y aprende dibujo, pintura y grabad...
