Quim Serrano Bou

Serrano Bou, was born in 1952 in Blanes (Spain). An small fishing village on the Costa Brava, closed to where Salvador Dal spent his late years. He grew up in contact with surrealist painters which were a great source of inspiration for his work.
He began to exhibit his work nationally and internationally even before he finished his art degree on the university school of arts in Barcelona. He travelled around the world during his youth, and on the eighties and early nineties he lived in New York. Where he worked actively within the art community and did art installations and solo exhibitions.

On his return to the Costa Brava, on the early nineties, he founded the social art collective Public Projects doing numerous art installations locally. But never leaving his work as a painter.

In 2005, together with two other painters, he founded Jus dart. Mexico, Miami, Monaco, Spain are some of the places where they showed their work with great success.

Hes now the art director of the Fundacin Planells in Blanes (Spain) actively working in solitary as a painter and visual artist and has developed his very personal iconography based on the eyes and a unique technique. A mixture of the simplicity of ethnic art and...
