Gustavo Alves da Silva first works date back to 2000, when he started painting human figures. At first, he was inspired by the images of his teenage years, by stories, comics and pornographic magazines, as well by writers and musicians. From 2007 onwards, the artist focused on the basic elements of painting - line, shape, light, texture, and color - through the use of gouache and from live models. Today, Alves da Silva lives and work in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
