Fanny is a French abstract painter based in South London. Self-taught artist, she paints vibrant and expressive abstract paintings.
She began painting in 2021 in her kitchen while recovering after burning out from her job as an Architect.
In 2007 she studied History of Art at the Pantheon-Sorbonne University in Paris for a year, before doing a Foundation Diploma in Design. She then studied Architecture at ENSA Paris-Malaquais. Soon after she graduated from her Master’s she had the opportunity to move to London to start working for the international architectural firm Foster+Partners. After six years working as an architect she realised she was deeply unfulfilled by her profession. Her daily tasks were lacking the freedom of creative expression that had always been essential in her life since childhood. Dancing, playing the piano and sewing were some of the activities she practiced and loved while growing up.
Painting allowed her to reconnect with her true aspiration to express herself through making art, understanding she needed to break out of the creatively narrowing boundaries of an office job and her lifestyle at the time.
