Glyn Rutter

As a self-taught artist from Manchester, England, I have always had a creative mind, and a passion for art. Furthermore, I have been creating various art formats from a young age. But I took up painting approximately 7 years ago and studied some of the greatest artists, from Kandinsky to Pollock. The passion for this style started when I needed a large painting for a room I was dressing. I gave it a go, and the creations from that moment have continued.

It may come as a surprise to you that I am actually colourblind, and I had always avoided using colour in art, but through creating abstract paintings I find that abstract gives me the freedom of expression. Also, the lack of conformity to colour assists in my creativity, giving freedom to my style and opening up the imagination.

Creating abstract artwork also took me away from the stress of everyday life. The abstract is staggeringly consequential to me due to its complete abstraction from reality. The art shows non-objective and non-figurative images. The images created also show no genuine link to anything real or factual, allowing the picture to be viewed in a diverse way each time.
