Iosef Yusupov

Iosef Yusupov Cohen is American costume and set designer, painter based in New York who has worked professionally around the world for more than 30 years.


 His first major success came with the production of Oedipus Rex at the Tadzhik Lakhuti Academic Drama Theater for which production received the prestigious State Prize of the USSR for the Arts.
Iosef is founding president of Stage Dimension Co
 
 Since moving to the United States, he has designed costumes and sets for numerous shows in US and abroad, including plays, operas, movies and TV productions.

 Metropolitan Opera House : Gambler  2001, MTV Music Award 2000, War and Peace 2002, Benvenuto Cellini 2003, Magic Flute 2005, Mazeppa 2006

Internationally his works has been seen at: Lakhuti Theater Tajikistan, Pushkin Theater Sant-Peterburg Russia, Theater Vurgun Baku Azerbaijan, Salzburg festival Austria, Athens Greece, La Scala Milan< Convent Garden London, Mariinsky Theater Sant-Peterburg, Bolshoi Theater, Moskow, Opera Australia Sidney, Netherlands Opera Amsterdam, Erfurt Germany, Opera Bastille Paris, Beijing China Bird Nest Stadium, Fisht Olimpic Stadium, Sochy, Russia.

He received his MFA from the Saint Petersburg Institute, Music and Cinematography, he designed sets and costumes all over Russia, Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union.
