Jessica Darch (UK May 1968) studied architecture at Kingston university (BA Hons 1991) and is a self-taught artist.
Contrasting both colour and dimension, challenging formats and large surfaces, her work explores the versatility of modern materials and media. Transparency and malleability fused with daring strokes result in striking compositions.
She started her painting career in the decorative art world creating murals and special effects on walls in private houses and hotels; transforming niches, terraces, bedrooms, pool areas, bathrooms, etc, She has also worked on large scale projects in collaboration with architects and interior designers in Spain, London, Miami, New York, Turín, Frankfurt and Nassau.
Her capacity to combine the execution of murals concurrently with paintings prompted her to work more on the "canvas" and so to represent more personal concepts, always with an aspiration to innovate and vary styles, her maximum being both colour and composition, which she now conceives onto her present favorite material or "canvas": Plexiglass
