EXHIBITIONS

I have been painting and drawing for the love of artistic creativity all my life while engaged in a business of commercial and residential real estate. My training in art started at a young age in Poland. While studying at the University in Stuttgart and Heidelberg in Germany and in the U.S. I continued my art education in still life, figure and portrait drawing, design and painting. Learning about art never stops for me. I have painted in watercolors, oil and now focusing on creating in acrylics and currently working on floral series.

My Creative Process

Nature comes to my senses in various ways, but plants and flowers impress me the most. I bring some from the market and arrange them in vases, add “accents”, and take photos. I also take photos of them as I walk on nature’s trails or city’s streets. I paint those that keep impressing me with their composition as a whole and certain details of it in form and color spectrum.

It is the impression of those qualities that I try to render in my paintings. The composition becomes richer or simpler, the forms get flowing lines, different lights and shadows, brighter or settled color tones. Opening Reception December 4, 6 – 9pm

Palos Verdes Art Center Saturday, December 4th, for the opening reception for three exhibitions: THE WINTER SHOW, Joyce Weiss: Passion for Color, and John Wessel Photography Program Annual Exhibition.

The Winter Show is a juried all-media exhibition open to all Palos Verdes Art Center (PVAC) members.
