My work consists mainly of black and white charcoal drawings.
I observe daily life and take a lot of photographs some of which I use as a reference for my drawings.
I work with the aspects of light, darkness, and mystery in an ordinary daily life.
What fascinates me is the fear of something unknown, the mystery around abandoned buildings and objects, the curiosity around human lifestyles and behaviours which are already gone or are not the same anymore. I grew up with stories of what it used to be before I was born and this has unconsciously reflected on my work.
Ocasionally I am inspired by photos of movie stills and old photos from my family albums. I tend to manipulate those images so they become more mystical and create a confusion of place and time.
I like playing around with my ready work by putting images next to each other and discover how they create their own new story and this leads to new ideas.
