Lena Lakoma

A Polish import in NYC, I was first hired internationally by Playboy Magazine in Warsaw to shoot a fashion spread in then industrial Dumbo. My career took off, as I continued to create for magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Seventeen and Marie Claire, among others.
I earned my M.A in photography from New York University and International Center of Photography after which I was lucky to continue learning from some of the greatest fashion shooters in the city. This forever shaped my style and and curiosity to explore.
When I work with my clients, fashion, hospitality or private, planning details can become an obsession, but a part of me, is always on the hunt for moments hidden in between micro seconds, emotions that pop out of shadows, movement and gestures that slip through time but build who we are. That hunger for a secret is what defines me as a person and a visual author; often my work does it's own thing and willfully asks questions, creates a mystery, chemistry, mood, undefined sentiment or an unfinished story that opens doors to everybody's private TBC.
