Manolo Sánchez is a watercolour artist and draughtsman of great experience who has taken part in over 150 solo exhibitions both in Spain and abroad, 80 of which have been in the Canaries.

His name had appeared among the most renowned painters in the Canary Islands. Since 1966, he started a new stage with experimental watercolour, sketched in a spontaneous, agile work sustained in a slightly watercoloured drawing.

He was born on 22nd of October 1930 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This famous artist is a member of The Watercolour Society of Tenerife, Barcelona and Mexico; The Academy of Arts and Sciences of Puerto Rico and Burckardt in Rome and The Institute of Canary Studies.

He has also been secretary and president of the Painting Section at the Fine Arts Circle in Tenerife, President of the Canarian Association of Watercolourists, guest of honour of Tarragona Watercolour Society and Honorary President of the Catalonian Society of Watercolourists.

He has been awarded prizes in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Madrid, Barcelona, Huelva and La Coruña in Spain. In Italy, in Rome, Naples, Monteccatini, Secondigliano. And Salerno, where he received a plaque in recognition of his work.

He has exhibited in the Canary Islands (Tenerife, La Palma,Gran Canaria, La Gomera, El Hierro and Lanzarote); in mainland Spain (Madrid,Barcelona, Valladolid, Castellón, Gerona, El Escorial, Santander and Cádiz) In Italy (Rome, Avelino, Pescopagano and Salerno) in addition to Cuba (Havana) and San Juan de Puerto Rico.

Manolo has Exhibited in numerous Galleries in the past being more than 135 Exhibitions by himself. This is a 90 years career in art.
