Michael Wheeler

Raised in Kinderhook,N.Y. and currently residing in Schenectady,N.Y.
I started painting 5 years ago, as a creative outlet, spurred on by my wife. She purchased some watercolor paints and paper that provided the basis for the whimsical works, created in 2010, seen in my portfolio @ Saatchi. Within a short period of time, I tended more toward acrylic, on canvas and then oil, on canvas. Rather quickly, my works evolved into a much more linear presentation, with a greater emphasis on the interplay of color.
As a business owner, I paint in my spare time. Therefore, there are extended periods devoid of any time for painting. Other times, I am painting for days on end. I prefer to have multiple works staging, at the same time.
My brother, H Wesley, is an artist, as was my mother, Evelyn Lusk Wheeler. She taught me which colors complemented and worked well with others.
