About The Artwork

Candlelight is also the light of hope. I've been making this series since the last year of the 20th century, but since last year I've been creating more of this series. This expression is one of the methods I found while searching for my own language by visual. In producing this work, I keep "black as a color" in mind. To make this series, first draw an outline with black ink on thin Japanese paper, and then transfer it to a film. At the same time, another process is to collage my pre-painted paper on top of Arche paper. Finally, those parts are set together. The film is smaller than the underlying paper because of its layering and framing. The original artwork in the frame is fantastic and floating. The finished original work is only this size to maintain its delicacy. If you need a larger size, select the printed matter that is displayed on a separate page. The signature of the original work can be found on the back or bottom right of the front of the work of art. The digital signature text of each photo, except the signature photo, is not in the original work.

I'm not thinking about becoming a minimalist, I'm thinking about how to tell a story in a limited elements. I often inspired by the things around us, nature and music. In creating of forms, the nature told me a lot of things. And in color, I am particular about black and white as colors, and another colors are appearing, too. I think each human life is not easy, so if viewers can be played in a different world, then I am happy. For me, creation is a place to live. Kyo-Yuzen is one of the traditional and artistic Japanese dyeing methods. I was born and raised in the Kyo-yuzen family in Kyoto, Japan. Also my relatives were nearby, and many of them worked for Kyo-yuzen. I thought that "human beings draw pictures" in my child hood. There are many traditional and modern museums near my home and visited there well. Also I love children's picture books, Western animations and dramas on TV, and Manga, too. So many cultural feelings penetrated me, and I would like to fuse them to create artworks naturally. My career is started as a textile designer for Paris and NY haute couture in the textile design company and next entered a German textile designer's studio as the same occupation. After that as a freelance, I set up own studio in Aoyama, Tokyo, created many illustrations and artworks. Creating artworks and held many solo and selected group exhibitions in inland and overseas since then.
