About The Artwork

Here I will quote the great Spanish poet Federico García Lorca (1898-1936): "In all Arabian music, in the dances, songs, elegies of Arabia, the coming of the Duende is greeted by fervent outcries of Allah! Allah! God! God!, so close to the Olé! Olé! of our bull ring that who is to say they are not actually the same, and in all the songs of southern Spain the appearance of the Duende is followed by heartfelt exclamations of God alive!- profound, human tender, the cry of communication with God through the medium of the five senses and the grace of the Duende" This piece is one of 3 series, 2 of them completed and presented in 2015, the third am still struggling to finish as I still feel something missing there :) I tried to infuse the Andalusian music and rhythm by using the arabesques from Alhambra, it was a difficult mission to achieve that "Allah, Ole" feeling. Original, Mixed media, print on canvas. Sold Available as open print size up to 20x40 inch

Lost; and sometimes found artist! This is the short version of the story, but you still want the long one i guess. I started playing with colors and materials at early years, oil painting was my first intro to the world of art beside my first Kodak Instamatic 100 camera. I didn't learn techniques in art school, instead i learned most of what i mastered while working on restoration of ancient art walls and ceilings in the old Damascus houses. There where i was first introduced to original minerals and where i mixed my colors paste directly from raw materials. It was the most inspiring and rich experience for the young artist. To be continued ..
