ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This work is part of my ‘Italian series 2022’, created to capture Italy’s most beautiful colourful seaside towns. I wanted to express through the vibrant colours, the culture that celebrates food, la Familia, that reflect both modern cosmopolitanism and historical heritage. My love for Italy is an unbridled relationship, through vibrant colours - it is then, where one begins to translate what there is to see and love about this part of Italy.

‘’Bruce Chidovori, abstract artist based in London, moves between Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism and Urban Art with impressive effortlessness and craftsmanship’’. by FAD art magazine London, UK. With abstract art Bruce takes the ideas that are unable to be bound by words and moves them into a shared space. his artworks make these ideas available in many forms. Individual prints are available on Saatchiart online store, but he is also available for public commission - creating small to large wall pieces to activate a private or public space. Bruce Chidovori lives and works in London, England. He creates paintings and mixed media artworks for both private and commercial collection. By rejecting an objective truth and global cultural narratives, Bruce creates daily, recognisable elements which the viewer is confronted with the conditioning of their own perception allowing one to reconsider their own biased position. His paintings are often about contact with life, surroundings socially and geographically touching on social and non-social elements. Space, landscape, cohesion or absences of, are examined in less obvious tones and sometimes developed in absurd ways. In search of new methods to build dialogue he focuses on the notion of public space and more specifically on spaces where anyone can do anything at any given moment. His work urges us to renegotiate painting as being part of a reactive or, at times autistic medium, commenting directly on oppressing themes and perspectives in our contemporary society. By applying abstract, he creates intense personal moments masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and equally refusal. His work is not about drawing reference to recognisable form. The results are deconstructions of emotion and extensions to one self to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted.
