Open Editions and Limited Editions Available. “Emergence” was born out of a deep desire for renewal and personal freedom, inspired by the collective experiences of the pandemic and my own journey of self-discovery. The butterfly at the heart of the piece symbolises transformation and rebirth — a release from the past and a celebration of the liberated spirit. I used geometric shapes, particularly diamonds and triangles, to represent fragments of my mind, piecing together clarity from chaos. The five-pointed star is symbolic of the elements — earth, air, fire, water, and spirit — and signifies our connection to the cosmos and universal balance. Through this piece, I hope viewers feel a sense of liberation and renewal, as if emerging from their own transformative experiences. I want “Emergence” to remind people of their strength, that they can break free from constraints, whether external or within their own minds. I chose mixed media to emphasise the layers of meaning — the tactile textures and vivid colours express the depth of transformation, while the layered forms mirror the complexity of personal growth. The sturdy cotton canvas and chunky wooden frame give the piece a solid, grounding presence, and it’s ready to hang with all necessary hardware included.
