Art is in Malia Howe’s blood, her Oma (Grandma) is an amazing Artist who taught her to paint at age seven. Malia taught herself to draw at age five by recreating Disney VHS covers. Through the years she continued creating and discovered a real passion for Art. After taking Fine Art classes all four years of High School, she completed a Summer Art Experience Course at the Academy of Art University. Following the summer course, she continued her studies at the University working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts: Painting and Illustration, degree. While attending classes she began working with new mediums and subject matter, expanding and growing as an artist. Malia took what she had learned and started building her portfolio. Her work is very close to her heart, creating from memories, family, personal beliefs and dreams. This connection gives viewers a glimpse into her life, and who she is as an Artist and person. Constantly striving to accomplish her dreams, Malia continues to create and show her work.
