ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The painting entitled, L'ami des chevreuils (The Friend of the Deers), created by RenéeRose, was given to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during an audience on July 16, 2019, at Buckingham Palace. This date marks another milestone in the career of the artist. A special day when the Queen of Canada received the painting from the delegation of the Régiment de la Chaudière. The Régiment de la Chaudière is a reserve infantry unit of the Canadian Army. This painting from the native spirit collection was selected several times for exhibition in Quebec before flying to the United Kingdom. "L'ami des chevreuils" presents a young character in the company of a deer. "It is a wonderful gift of life to see that one of my paintings has been chosen for such an important meeting. Knowing Her Majesty's attachment to the wildlife on her lands, I am fulfilled with the artwork's destiny." Said the artist. Few Canadian artists have that chance. RenéeRose has exhibited her artwork twice in New York City. She was among the thirty Canadian artists selected by the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. RenéeRose exhibited her works at the Salon National des Beaux-Arts at the Carrousel du Louvre. "Now, one of my paintings is in the hands of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is fabulous. I am extremely grateful for this great opportunity." Said RenéeRose. (Please visit at your convenience for newspaper articles and photos.) RenéeRose is an award-winning Canadian artist living and working in the province of Quebec. She is known for her vibrant artworks, paint on wood panels and compose with natural grains to create figures in dynamic motion. DANCING WITH THE LIGHT Figures are articulated in black and white. They play instruments, dance, create or contemplate. Both the style of her works and the subjects portrayed embody very strong energy, whether that energy manifests as appealing and inspirational in some works, or explosive and blazing in others. DISTINCTIVELY NATURALISTIC In each portrait, the leaves and abstract strokes contrast with the figure, emphasizing and balancing the natural wooden space, pulling the eye across the canvas, and providing some volume for the expressive figures. The deep red, fuchsia, black and white of her materials and the wooden background in each image all add a distinctively naturalistic facet to the painting, illustrating an inner beauty. It became one with every subject she worked on. RenéeRose adores wood. She likes its character, grain, veins and its unique aroma when she saw it. As an artist, she wants, above all, to celebrate life using this noble material. INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE COLLECTIONS Canada, France, United States and United Kingdom.
