“Human conditions and the subconscious are my main field of exploration. The connection between a person and an object runs just as deep as the connection between two people, or even deeper. There is no language involved, only the essence of human being in the world - sensing and reflecting. An object does not need to be useful or of immediately recognizable purpose to gain the affection of an observer, quite on the contrary - the lack of clarity of use triggers curiosity. Curiosity creates a connection. I explore that moment when the mind is free to let the body create, allowing the Objects of unclear purpose, inhabiting the subconscious, to come to the forefront. In a quasi-rational world, paintings themselves are not designed to cover or fulfill a special need, up until the moment when They connect with someone.“ “I was delighted to encounter the art of Mr Ventzislav Dikov. His style is truly varied – as figurative as abstract and featured by a specifically pronounced graphic outline. I was fascinated by the purity of the lines in his paintings’ characters. On a compositional level, the exuberance of geometric and non-standard, often curiously peculiar forms marks the presence of the artist’s imaginative world. Furthermore, Dikov’s elegantly sweeping graphic style aims for the ultimate perfection. Precision, emotion, and sheer colors tend to bring subconsciously the viewer into the meanders of the artist’s original universe – a visual trip to new, undiscovered spaces.” Jerry Delfosse Curator, founder and owner of The Espace Art Gallery, Bruxelles VENTZISLAV DIKOV was born in 1979 in Sofia, Bulgaria in a family of musicians. He began drawing and painting at an early age. Striving to preserve his unique style and approach towards art, he chose to study music and graduated from the National Academy of Music “Pancho Vladiguerov” in Sofia and later the “Hoschule für Musik” in Münster, Germany as a classical guitar player. Since 2003 Ventzislav Dikov has been equally active both in the worlds of and music. He has had over thirty solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad (Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, Cologne, Barcelona, Luxemburg, etc.). D
