ABOUT THE ARTWORK

While one might think this was inspired by Monet's garden, it was actually in fact from a photograph I took at Lettuce Lake Conservation Park in Tampa Florida. The light was shimmering off the water in such a way that I just had to paint it. Of course, it was in reality mostly green, and there were water plants, but not pink/purple water lilies. Maybe Monet spoke to me after all. This is all palette knife.

Call me Bibzie (BibZ) Born in culturally rich Chester County, PA...Brandywine Valley, home of the Wyeth family (as well as other noteworthy artists), I became interested in art at a very young age. My sister and I played "Stump the Artist" using pencil on paper, or sticks in the dirt when playing outside. One would make squiggles and lines, the other had to make a picture of it. We spent hours doing this, which I believe helped ignite the spark for art, drawing and painting.
