Mirror Image Print

My preferred canvas format is 1 x 1 meter. A square format gives no direction and gives me more freedom. In this format I have painted more than 180 pictures in the last 20 years, all of which I start abstractly and usually end figuratively. I call this series "Panta rhei", because the images flow out of my body in sequence. The play with shapes and colors continues until I feel that the composition is coherent. So pass several hours, rarely sometimes weeks. The latter is rare, because the images are always an expression of my current mood. It is a kind of gestural painting that is unplanned. This painting is upside down. It is actually animals in a park. But the abstract play of colors is more important than reality. It is now a reflection in the water.
