Conspirators are plotting to take control of that Island. Ta's collection of conspirators is full of mischief and secrecy. Each character is always up to something naughty or scheming a dodgy deal, "I want a desperado feel to it, moody as if they have something to hide, I want them anxious, so you get those staring menacing eyes and, as always, beautiful girls”. In this oil canvas, I traversed the realms of figurative expression, impressionism, and surrealism to manifest a vivid tableau that defies convention. The characters, each steeped in unique hues and forms, coalesce to evoke a dynamic soiree of the mind. Their elongated features and enigmatic gazes invite onlookers into a narrative rife with intrigue and societal commentary. Ta Byrne is a Thai artist who lives and works on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, just off the south coast of Thailand. Her Oil Paintings . are vibrant, eye-catching and packed with a sense of fun and humour. Ta takes humans as her focal point in her Figurative Painting but abstracts these figures by distorting them and using a cartoonish style to create a more humorous feel. While her work is mostly representational, she incorporates Surrealist elements in many of her paintings, making her one of the most exciting artists working in Thailand today. Ta comes from humble beginnings, living out her childhood on the rural outskirts of Bangkok as a farmer's daughter. During her teen years, she worked sewing shirts in a Bangkok sweatshop, and it was during this time that she met an old street artist who invited her to his studio. This sparked her desire to become an artist, and since then, she has gone on to produce Abstract and Cubist paintings that have received international acclaim from art connoisseurs.
