The creation of this piece stemmed from my desire to create my own video game. Whenever I had any kind of criticism towards a video game I would always think to myself what I could have done to improve upon it if I were the designer. I would daydream about my own video games, and how I would create the most awesome videogame that everyone would love to play. Of course that idea never stuck around, but my interest in video games are still pretty high. I don't have the time to play them any more, but I still do daydream about my own personal video game even till this day. I believe I created this piece of artwork in response to my desire to build a fighting game. Arcades were such a comforting place to visit as a 90s kid. There was air conditioning, there was loud music, and there was interactive graphics. As long as you had the money to spare, you could break up your daily one dollar allowance and play a few video games in your local arcade. I haven't seen an arcade in years, and every time I come across one I just have to walk in, even for a moment.
