A white cowboy hat is symbolic in the American Western tradition as well as functional for the cowboy riding the plains and as fashion. It is a powerful image of identity that reflects ruggedness and independence. I painted this iconic object in a style so the viewer is confronted by line, shape, and form...and an environment of color. Hopefully, by minimal rendering, this familiar object retains its iconic nature.
