ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Looking at the shifting surface of water induces a meditative state which has contributed to its symbolic power throughout history. In the paintings the experience of contemplating water is re-created rather than re-presented. The use of two-tone patterns and outlines create visual experiences within the 'static' 2D image similar to contemplation of 'live' water. The painting is based on a digitally manipulated image of water and is over-painted with solid and transparent acrylic paint. The painting has a black ½” frame and is ready to hang.
