I came to painting as a writer. A friend gave me pencils for Christmas 2002 and i took them to a life drawing class. Before that I had to find the right words to convey a mood,a character, a story. Now I found I could use a brush stoke or a colour or a texture to summon a whole world. It felt like I had sprouted wings. I never use pencils now. Not once I had discovered charcoal, pastels and glorious paint. I painted and drew wherever and whenever and now I have a studio and collectors of my work.
