The (de)construct series is a collection of monoprints & collages inspired by the 1970s brutalist extension to the Ulster Museum by architect Francis Pym. Sections of the building have been drawn on to a variety of recycled card, the sections have then been printed and reconfigured in a different arrangement to create a new work, presenting a cubist like view of the structure.

I am an artist and printmaker based in East London, graduating from the Belfast School of Art in 1997 having studied textiles. I worked for John Rocha in Dublin later that year, printing fabrics for men’s and womenswear collections. I set up my studio, heraldblack, in 2014. Now printing on paper instead of textiles, I produce a range of hand printed & original monoprints as well as card and poster ranges that are stocked by retailers in the UK, EU & USA. My work is also licensed through Bridgeman Studios and East End Prints and has been used by Habitat, Anthropologie, Columbia University Press, LittleBrown Book Group and Pringle of Scotland.
