Rebecca Fitzsimmons

I am a multi-disciplinary artist based in the Scottish Borders, working primarily in charcoal, pencil, and pen. My work explores the themes of transformation, mythology, emotional healing, and the tension between light and dark. Drawing on symbolism from nature, spirituality and human emotion. I create pieces that are both raw and reflective—inviting the viewer into a space of introspection.

After over a decade as a tattoo artist, I have transitioned into fine art to pursue a practice that allows for deeper storytelling and personal expression. My current body of work combines figurative realism with surreal, symbolic elements, often weaving together motifs of hearts, butterflies, skulls, serpents, and divine feminine archetypes. I use my art to express emotion from personal experience after several traumatic life events. It has been part of my healing journey.
