Ritu Sangal

15th Febuary 1958. I was born in Calcutta, West Bengal India. I spent my childhood all over India, but mainly in Allahabad. As my father was in the Indian Army, I was able to pick up a lot of local techniques.I have recieved the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshani Award- 2003 For Outstanding Services, Achievements And Contributions.I am a Registered Craft person with Dev. Comm. (Handicraft): Min. of Textile, Govt. Of India, New Delhi since October 1996.My inspiration is nature and Indian Mythology which touches me deeply.I am an artist of many mediums. I work in watercolours, acrylic, oils, tanjores(traditional paintings using pure gold and semi-precious stones)enamels and on-glaze. I also do a lot of craft and designing.My painting 'Tree of Life ' is a permanent exhibit (Acc No 3276) at the President House of India.

- 3 year Textile Designing - M.B.A. ( market research)For the last 40 years I have been exhibiting regularly. I have also been involved in guiding young artists.I have to my credit over 12 SOLO SHOWS and 16 GROUP SHOWS
