Deepankar Gohain

Deepankar Gohain is an artist, writer and performer and a fellow at Sarai, CSDS (Centre for Studies of Developing Societies), New Delhi. He studied literature, fine arts and art history. He also runs an NGO in Assam, does theatre, curates exhibitions, and plays the guitar and the Dotara. He had published his articles in "˜Times of India', "˜India Insight', and "˜Sun'. He is working on his first fiction "˜The Lost Trails'. His first play "˜The Cry' was awarded by IIT Mumbai in the year 2004 as part of their annual fest "˜Mood Indigo'

Did a solo "Songs of Silence" in the year 2009 in Dibrugarh District Library and Museum

Wrote the Curatorial note "Insight" on the works of veteran artist Omprakash Yadav in Arc Heaven, California 2009

Worked as a Research Assistant and Anchored in the Documentries "The Bond of Culture-The Land of Monpas and "Fairwell to Arms" produced by PPC NE Doordarshan 2008

Curated an art show the "˜Y Generation' in the exhibition hall, Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S Univeersity, Baroda, Gujrat 2004
